I believe that videos are an effective way to communicate science that can be eye opening, through provoking for the wider society through its creative, visual format. I have been contributing to various video-based activities throughout the years and have also produced my own films.

G7 Arctic Sustainability Summit

This video was filmed at the G7 Arctic Sustainability Summit, which gathered domestic and international policy leaders to envision a future of Arctic sustainability. I was invited at the summit, along with three graduate students, to share the students’ perspective on the future of Arctic sustainability. In this video, I talk about collaborating with Indigenous and local knowledge holders as part of research.

The Canadian Foundation for Innovation (CFI) developed an interactive map of the scientific icebreaker CCGS Amundsen in which they featured my research onboard the ship in summer 2014. In this video, I describe my PhD project on energy flows in the Arctic marine food web.

I was finalist of the scientific outreach contest COGITO, led by the Graduate Student Association of Université Laval. This video is about my Master’s research on the invasion of boreal and temperate fish species in the Arctic Ocean.
